Hello Parents and Carers,
Welcome back students, staff and families to the beginning of Term 2. I hope the Term 1 break and Easter holiday period provided you with time to rest, reconnect with loved ones, and enjoy some well‑earned downtime. Whether you travelled, celebrated Easter, or simply enjoyed being together, I trust the break has allowed everyone to return feeling refreshed and ready for the exciting term ahead.
It has been wonderful to see our College come alive again this week, with classrooms buzzing, friendships reconnecting, and a clear sense of positivity and purpose across the College. As always, Term 2 brings with it many opportunities for learning, growth, challenge and celebration, and I am very much looking forward to another great term together as a community.
Today, we paused and came together as a College to acknowledge an important moment in our national history with ANZAC services with both the Primary and Secondary years students and staff. We held our ANZAC services in the Furze Fitness Centre, with many students completing readings and performing songs as part of this service. All Primary classes laid a wreath as a sign of respect. I was extremely proud of all our students for the respect shown during these services.
ANZAC Day reminds us of the courage, service and sacrifice of the men and women who have served our nation, both past and present. It is also an opportunity for us to reflect on values that continue to guide us today: respect, service, resilience and mateship. These values align strongly with who we are and what we stand for as a school community.
I am incredibly proud to share that over 35 of our students will be performing in support of the Dawn service, from our Instrumental Music and Performing Arts Academies, tomorrow. Their involvement is a powerful example of service, leadership and community contribution, and we thank them – and our dedicated staff – for the time, preparation and respect they bring to these important commemorations. We look forward to seeing our students honour this occasion with dignity and pride.
As we move into the term, our focus remains firmly on learning, positive relationships and student wellbeing. We will continue to prioritise connection, high expectations and support for every learner, ensuring that each student is supported, valued and challenged to be their best.
Thank you, as always, to our families for your ongoing partnership, support and trust. Together, we continue to create a learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
I look forward to another successful and rewarding term ahead and wish everyone a strong and positive start to Term 2.
Welcome back!
