Hello Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of Term One, I would like to take this opportunity to pause and reflect on what has been a purposeful and positive start to the school year, and to sincerely thank you for the ongoing support, trust and partnership you provide to our College community.
The first term of any school year is a significant time of transition and adjustment. For many students, it brings new classes, new teachers, renewed expectations and developing friendships. Throughout this term, we have been proud to see our students approach these changes with a growing sense of confidence, curiosity and perseverance. Across learning spaces, students have been establishing strong routines, setting goals and engaging positively in both their learning and their relationships.
At the heart of our College are our four core values, our four R’s – Respect, Relationships, Resilience and Responsibility. These values guide everything we do and shape the culture of our College. Throughout Term One, we have seen these values come to life in meaningful ways: students showing respect for one another, strengthening positive relationships, demonstrating resilience when challenges arise, and taking responsibility for their learning and behaviour. These everyday actions are what create a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where students can thrive.
This year, our whole-College focus of “Connect First” has reinforced the importance of relationships, belonging and wellbeing as the foundation for learning. We know that when students feel connected to their teachers, their peers and their school, they are more engaged, more confident and more successful. Term One has seen a strong emphasis on connection across the College, and it has been wonderful to witness students building trust, empathy and a sense of community within their classrooms and beyond with peers and teachers.
Our College firmly believes that students flourish best when schools and families work in partnership. Your role in supporting learning, wellbeing and positive routines at home is invaluable. Whether through daily encouragement, open communication with staff, attending College events or taking time to talk with your child about their school day, your involvement makes a genuine difference. We are grateful for the trust you place in us and appreciate the respectful and collaborative relationships we share with our parent community.
Term One has also been enriched by a wide range of learning experiences beyond the classroom, including academic opportunities, camps, excursions, sporting events, cultural activities and community engagement. These experiences not only complement classroom learning but also help students develop confidence, teamwork, resilience and a strong sense of belonging, all central to our 4 R’s and our “Connect First” approach.
I would also like to acknowledge and thank our dedicated staff, whose professionalism, care and commitment underpin the success of our students each day. Their focus on building relationships, maintaining high expectations and supporting student wellbeing and guiding their learning is central to the positive culture we continue to strengthen at our College.
As we approach the term break, I encourage families to use this time to rest, recharge and reconnect. These moments of downtime are vital for our young people and provide an opportunity to reflect on their achievements and prepare for the learning ahead in term 2.
Thank you once again for your continued partnership and support. Together, grounded in our shared values of Respect, Relationships, Resilience and Responsibility, and guided by our “Connect First” focus, we are creating a learning community where every student feels known, supported and empowered to succeed.
I wish you and your family a safe, restful and enjoyable holiday break, and we look forward to welcoming our students back for Term Two.
God Bless.
