Dear Hazel Glen College Community,

As I take a moment to reflect on the past ten years, I am filled with gratitude and pride for the incredible journey I have shared at Hazel Glen College. From the day I stepped through the doors in 2014 to becoming principal in 2018, I have been inspired by our mission to create a nurturing and dynamic educational environment where every student matters. Watching our college grow from its humble beginnings to the thriving community it is today has truly been the greatest professional experience of my life.

When I first joined Hazel Glen College, our community was just beginning to take shape. I joined a small group of dedicated staff and a handful of students eager to learn and grow together. Our vision was clear, to build a College that not only excelled academically but also fostered a sense of belonging, personal development and opportunities for every student. Over the years, we have worked tirelessly to create an environment where students can explore their passions, develop their skills, and become confident, capable individuals ready to take on the world.

Today, Hazel Glen College stands as a testament to our collective hard work and dedication. We have expanded our facilities and resources, providing students with state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, sporting and arts spaces that support a wide range of learning experiences. Our commitment to extracurricular activities has never been stronger, offering a variety of academies in sports, music, the arts, and leadership in both our primary and secondary years. These opportunities allow our students to discover their strengths, build lasting friendships, and cultivate a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my role has been witnessing the remarkable achievements of our students, both academically and personally. The diverse opportunities we provide, including interstate and overseas experiences, continue to inspire me and our entire staff. These experiences broaden our students’ horizons, allowing them to engage with different cultures and perspectives. It is essential that we equip our students with the skills and confidence to thrive in a global society, and I am proud that we can offer such transformative opportunities.

Our school motto, “One School, Everyone Matters” encapsulates the spirit of our community. Each day, I am driven by the belief that every student deserves our utmost attention and support. It is my mission to ensure that we cater to the unique needs of each student, creating personalised pathways for their growth and success. This commitment is not just a guiding principle; it is a reflection of our collective dedication to building a school culture where every voice is heard, and every student and staff member is valued.
